Antique French desktop clock, end 19th century

This unique desk top clock was cast in a metal alloy giving it tremendous details. When this timepiece was created aluminum was not used yet, but more commonly cast iron was used. Cast iron cools too fast to get the projection of detailed designs.

The use of different metal alloys can be first seen in the the watches of Nicholas Muller & Sons (1850-1900).

This beautiful blue desktop clock has some signs of the passage of time and the front glass is missing  however it is fully functional.
